The Greatest American Road Trip started on January 1, 2016 and ended on December 31, 2016. During that time, we were on the road in a 4X4 SUV, with an Airstream trailer in tow, traveling to all 59 U.S. National Parks in 52 weeks—about one per week. With parks located in the Caribbean, northern Alaska, American Samoa in the Pacific and everywhere in between, it was an ambitious, yet attainable goal. We plotted our route carefully and planned contingencies so that we could capture the best of every park in one calendar year.

About This Website

Each park has and will have (we're still in the editing process of the final parks) its own gallery page on this website with photographs, timelapse video, stories, shareable media, quotations, and other content relevant to our experiences in the national parks. Select 'National Parks' in the navigation header and search for your favorite park. If it is represented by a darkened image, we have not yet edited it.

Also being created this year but not presented on this website are black and white film prints, illustrations drawn with the Apple Pencil on the iPad Pro, and Virtual Reality (VR) video.

The 'Map' page shows locations and gives descriptions of all U.S. National Parks in the lower 48, Alaska, Hawaii, American Samoa, and in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Our route will be revealed as park pages go up. If you haven't already, please sign up to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook
